An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

My beautiful book buddy and my bookstagrammer inspiration Nikki saturday_nite_reader talked about this fabulous book I knew I just had to read it.

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

Published by Pan Macmillan

Publication Date 7th February 2019

After reading and loving the β€˜The Wife Between Us’ I just knew I would not be disappointed. I just loved the writing style instantly. As I started reading it I was under the writers spell.

A psychological thriller that will keep you guessing and wanting to know more. It certainly has dark parts within it- which adds to the suspense.

The characters are exceptionally written with both strength, rawness and darkness.

This book will give you lots to think about and you will try to second guess what happens next.

Expect the unexpected.

Save your Christmas Money and pre-order this brilliant book. It quite simply an epic read.

Big thank you to both Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for my eARC of this fabulous book.

Book Finds December 2018

I have to admit that I do have a bit of a book addiction and I do love a spot of books shopping.

Lately I popped into my local Red Cross charity shop and I found these little gems.

Especially when I come across authors I’ve need heard of.

I just love adopting used books and give them a new home.

Anyone read any of these books or heard of these authors.

Would love to know your thoughts.

Since starting my blog 6 months ago I have been guided by a variety of writers, authors and genres. I love nothing more than to have a good rummage through an old bookcase to see what treasures are hiding.

Then this morning I got this book. Sounds so interesting.

I highly recommend any book lover to have a good in your local charity shop. Not only will you come away with some fabulous books at a great price but you will also be doing your bit for charity.

Erotic Stories For Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswa

I was recommended this book by a fellow bookstagrammer Nikki who has a blog called Saturday Nite Reader. She loved it so much and was saying such great things about it that I just knew I had to get a copy.

I certainly was not disappointed.

What a FABULOUS book!!!!- it is one of those book that I got totally lost in. It is a journey about and through Nikki’s life.

She gets a job to teach some Punjabi Widows english. However not everything is as it seems.

It shows a wonderful sense of cross culture and different ideas in generations.

It’s a combination of drama, life ,fear but also humour with a little bit of naughtiness.

It’s a book that offers so much more than just erotic stories. I read this in 2 sittings.

A book that I say all book lovers onto read.

Jog On by Bella Mackie

I was giving the opportunity to read this by the very kind people from Harper Collins UK .

Bella Mackie has written is great book.

Publication Date 27th December 2018

Jog on is more thank just a memoir-it is also like a book that offers both advice and self help.

It takes you through Bella’ life and how running helps her get through the hard times in her life. As odd as it sounds I found myself cheering Bella one with regards to her running achievements- starting small distance and achieving a fantastic 13k.

This is a totally unfiltered book.

Bella is raw & honest- She doesn’t leave anything out. I loved how she isn’t ashamed to talk about her mental health issues. – A subject that is sadly still a taboo today.

Bella writing style is so beautiful – Her book is both inspiring and a joy to read.

Fabulous Book- publication date 27th December 2018.

We Must Be Brave

I was sent an eARC of this book from 4th Estate Books and was looking forward to reading it.

We Must Be Brave

By Frances Liardet

Published By: 4th Estate Books

Publication Date: 7th February 2019

It is faced paced with strong characters. Tough subject matter. It is not an easy read and at times I did find it quite challenging. However, saying that it is worth persevering with it.

This book is based on war however it looks at aspects of war that is not often talked about- how it effects families, people, relationships- the things that are often forgotten about.

Certainly gets you thinking during and after you have finished reading it. I was left pondering about it for days.

Frances Liardet has achieved a beautifully written novel.

Thank you again to 4th Estate Books and Frances Liardet.

A must read

My Sister The Serial Killer

My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

Published by atlanticbooks

Publication Date 3rd January 2019

Firstly I just love the cover- The very bold and vivid green for the titles I thought looks great.

What an amazing book- I just loved everything about it.

It is fast paced which I loved and I just wanted to know what happened next.

The book/story is set in Nigeria- Korede has a younger sister Ayoola-who uses her beauty and popularity to date men who fall for her but they then end up dead.

What I enjoyed about this book is that there is an excellent balance of dark and light undertones to it which really works.

Oyinkans writing is simply brilliant. Cannot wait to read her future work.

Save your Christmas money for this book out 3rd January 2019

Excellent Read.

Thank you atlanticbooks for sending me this and Oyinkan Braithwaite for writing this great book.

Our Life in a Day by Jamie Fewery

Our Life in a Day

By Jamie Fewery

Published by @orionbooks

Publication Date 27th December 2018

What a beautifully written book- I could not put it down. It was so refreshing to read a love story that wasn’t surrounded by hearts and fluffy clouds. It was a real and honest- tackles issues that β€˜real’ relationships go through.

It is based around Tom and Esme’s relationship over 10years.

Esme wants to play a game- they are each given a pile of posted notes and they need to write a memories in a time frame of 24hrs.

What I liked about the story is that it tackles mental health and alcohol abuse issues within Tom- sadly mental health issues amongst me is still a taboo subject-

It’s very rare to find a story that has everything in one package.

This is a very raw, intense book where nothing about Tom and Esme relationship is hidden -full of honest, lies, love, hate, and helplessness.

Jamie Fewery has done a fantastic job at tackling issues that can effect relationships head on and that has to be admired.

Loved reading this- The simplicity of the style of writing shows a inner deeper meaning .

Highly Recommended πŸ‰πŸ‰πŸ‰πŸ‰πŸ‰/5

Thank you to @orionbooks for my eARC and thank you to @jamiefeweryauthor for writing such a great book.
